I agree whole-heartedly. Blaming a minor for something that an older, knowing man does is a horrific mistake made too many times in our current society. Vulnerable youth is too often exploited at the hands of clergy in the name of God.

Take me for example: Oh, too late. That happened when I was fourteen. The church knew. He was one of them.

Thanks for sharing your insight Misty. I think one of the most twisted side-effects of sexual abuse is that the victim generally tends to feel more guilt than the perpetrator.

I also agree that Speaker Clark has shown that he is not qualified to hold his position.

The Daily Herald articulates it well, and Speaker Clark definitely needs to resign. It is silence, coverup or dismissiveness which perpetuates abuse of any kind, and his actions fall in that vein.

Powerfull post. Thanks for being so honest and personal with us all. Though I have not had these things happen to me, I have see people of trust in my own religion use it for the wrong things and it saddens me. Thanks for the post and I agree with you in all points..;including the removal of Speaker Clark.

Time to buy you a bottle of "Gee your hair smells terrific" http://www.stuckinthe70s.com/images/teenbeat0978gee.jpg (I do not recommend the haircuts in the ad). Go for short hair. It will give you more time for other things in life.
