Chantix!

My doctor agreed that it was time for me to go on Chantix, now that all of my other meds have settled in. I know that IHC doesn’t automatically approve it, so I was planning on it being a few weeks before I got to start it. Today I found out that they worked it all out with my doctor, and I have the first month’s worth in my hands!

So, I will be posting here regularly about my experience with it. If you remember, I thought about trying it last year, but decided against it because of the potential side effects. Since the alternatives obviously didn’t work, I’ve decided to move forward with Chantix. I’ll have my friends watching out for any scary side effects, and I plan to write about it here often, so that I can keep track of myself. The side effect I’m most afraid of is the suicidal ideation. I’ve been there before, and I won’t go back. If I find myself there from this pill, I will immediately stop.

I’ve not decided when to start the Chantix yet, but I’ll post about it once I do decide.

Good luck Misty. You can do it.

My wife has said that quitting smoking was the hardest thing she ever did. Good luck, Misty. I’m sure you’re stubborn enough to pull it off. ;)
