Christmas “White Flask” Party Planning

After some tweeting about having a Christmas Tweet-up where we exchange flasks (or possibly other related items, wine, whatever) rather than the traditional “white elephant” gifts, I’ve decided to pursue the idea.

I was going to create a poll, but my first attempt at installing a random poll application failed miserably, and I don’t have time to focus on it.

So, answer these questions in the comments, if you will:

  1. Would a weekday or weekend work better for you?
  2. What do you think of my initial suggestion of Dec 5, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of the end of the prohibition?
  3. Are you ok with coming to Murray for the party?
Please add any additional thoughts or suggestions.

    1. I would prefer a weekend. It’s easier on my head to not have to work the next day.
    2. I love the idea.
    3. I live not far from Murray so I’m okay with that.

I’m thinking it might be a good idea to do sort of a potluck of snacky goodness.

Ohhh, yes. A potluck would be perfect!

  3. Comment by Jared:

I’ll bring the waffles and gin!

  4. Comment by Saintless:

Gin in a flask, right? LOL

  5. Comment by Laura:

I’m down with Murray. Are you kidding? I’ll drive anywhere to receive a flask-related item. It’s like trick-or-treating for grown-ups.

I’m happy to bring whatever, even chairs.

  6. Comment by Laura:

Forgot to say that I love the date. Symbolic AND on a Friday!

  7. Comment by Saintless:

I’ve got the event created on Facebook. Anyone missing an invite should friend me or otherwise contact me and ask for an invite.

  8. Comment by Flahute:

I understand the symbolism of the date, but the last UTCX race is on Saturday the 6th; which means early night for Stevie.

  9. Comment by Saintless:

Ahhh, well, come if you can. The party won’t go too late.
