The traffic changes that Wal-Mart would bring would change the face of Sugar House as it is today. There’s already a big box store in the neighborhood, though in a better position close to the freeway, which minimizes traffic impact. A second one is not needed.

And more importantly, the small, local businesses would suffer greatly if a Wal-Mart were put in.

I’m sure there are much better ways to get less asphalt, and more greenery in that area than to allow Wal-Mart to put their claws in.

First, the KMART is still there.

Second, the building is not “perfectly good” as WALMART Watch says. The building has been falling apart for years.

Third, they are basically replacing one big box for annother.

Fourth, The new plan calls for a building of roughly the same size, but less asphalt and more trees and grass than ezist now.
